Not even a week after my final medical bill came in after going through insurance I got a letter in the mail. It was an unexpected note from my dad with a check inside. It said I was receiving a portion of the home sale of my grandfather’s house! The check was enough to cover a tithe off the top, the medical bill, and have some extra to go shopping! Look at God! I think what made the whole thing even more incredible is that the check came after I had so much peace about the situation.
I was praying and trusting that even if I had to pay the bill from my savings that I would be ok and still be able to do other things in the next few months that I wanted to do.
I was prepared to pay the bill but I didn’t have to. It’s always interesting to live our lives and see scripture come alive.
“Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” Philippians 4: 6-7
One of my favorite scriptures and one of the few I have committed to memory (thanks Pastor Snodgrass for always saying it to us at Progressive Union)
“Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge him, and he will always make your paths straight.”
