A good word can really change your day. When someone gives you a compliment or acknowledgment for something you’ve done, it feels good. It’s the same with the Word of God. It is so powerful, life-changing, and encouraging. I say “stay strapped” because it is so critical to keep the Word with you. I’m not saying you have to carry a Bible with you everywhere you go but a few scriptures on you make a world of difference. I’m not the best at memorizing things so I keep tons of scripture on my phone. Every time I encounter a good Word that I connect to, I add it to my phone. I liken it to storing up ammo for later. It’s great to have scripture for different life scenarios at your fingertips. Here are a few of my favorites:
This one really helped when I first started my job and was feeling under-qualified: “I chose you before I formed you in the womb; I set you apart before you were born. I appointed you a prophet to the nations.” (Jeremiah 1:5) When I’m feeling anxious: “My peace I give you…do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.” (John 14:27) And when I’m feeling tired heading into work: “I will refresh the weary and satisfy the faint.” (Jeremiah 31:25) Scripture is so powerful, and I wouldn’t say that unless I didn’t know for myself. Try it; strap yourself up with some scripture. This world is so negative sometimes and you really have to encourage yourself. I think there’s no better way to do this than with scripture. Go ahead and give it a try! God bless ;)
